Interactive dashboard for the rapid dissemination of project findings.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As part of the Horizon2020 research project CLEARING HOUSE<\/a> was I the main person in charge of creating an interactive dashboard<\/a> to visualize and provide results of an evaluation of scientific literature (\"literature review\") on the effect of urban forests as nature-based solutions. Here, in addition to individual street trees and groups of trees, all trees in green spaces as well as forest and woodland stands are included as components of the urban forest.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The dashboard<\/a> allows filtering and displaying the results of the literature review by geographic region as well as by selected contextual or thematic focus. The dashboard was implemented in R using Shiny.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What is it good for?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Results of the research project are quickly made accessible to interested parties. The interactive processing and visualization allows data to be presented or analyzed specifically according to individual aspects, thus enabling access to the research data from differentiated perspectives and viewpoints. This should support further research, but also urban planning and climate change adaptation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban forests provide multiple functions, so-called ecosystem services, for example for human health (air pollution control), individual well-being (psychological restorative potential), urban climate (cooling, shading), and biodiversity.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
