Visualization of precipitation rate per major river basin
The following figure visualizes the range of the mean expected, i.e., modelled, precipitation rate for the years 1901 and 2000 based on EU WATCH Forcing data. The expected precipitation rate includes precipitation in form of rainfall and snowfall. The data has been processed on a raster basis for both years, i.e., the expected precitipation over the whole of both years 1901 and 2000 has been added and a mean computed. That mean expected precipitation rate was subsequently broken down to river basin level and visualized as boxplot using R. The visualization below indicates the differences in mean expected precipitation between both years: positive values indicated an increase in mean expected precipitation rate, negative values indicate a decrease.
