Land-use of Saxony
A map in a flood risk assessment context
The goal of this map had been the visualization of the primary land-uses and land cover in the state of Saxony, Germany, with relevance to flood risk assessment. That is why the map does not show a highly differentiated classification, but focuses on a few main classes: arable land, grassland, forest, and settlements. Moreover, transport infrastructure is overlaid. Due to the flooding context, catchment boundaries particularly for the Mulde river have been added as well. Terrain is included by hillshading to depict the flow of the Mulde river from the Erzgebirge in the South towards the nothern lowlands.
