http://fetchclimate2.cloudapp.net/ is a Microsoft Research project that facilitates access to climatological (and other geographical) data by a comfortable web interface. Among others, information is available for variables such as soil moisture, Surface air temperature, wind speed, (potential) evapotranspiration, air humidity, or the frequency of frost and wet days. Via a map, a region can be selected for which the data shall be prepared; data preparation includes e.g. the calculation of means for selected periods of time. The prepared data can be visualized within FetchClimate2 or exported, e.g., in form of a csv-file.
